This Solaira High Power, Variable Output, Heater Control is designed to provide true variable heat output, for multiple electric infrared heaters. It allows you to adjust the heat output of the heaters from 4% to 100% of the available power. The user control is a simple, 270° turn potentiometer with integral "On/Off" switch and a calibrated dial plate (included). The “SOFT START” feature brings power up slowly, adding an estimated 15% to emitter life. This SOLAIRA HIGH POWER CONTROL is supplied WITHOUT an enclosure. Most electrical supply companies offer competitively priced enclosures if needed. SIZING CONSIDERATIONS SOLAIRA HIGH POWER CONTROLS are designed for use on variable resistance loads such as quartz/tungsten emitters. 1. Size units by actual load amps and not heater wattage. Always use maximum possible load current for sizing purposes. 2. Controls are available in single phase, 30 amp, 80 amp, 150 amp and 350 amp models. The 20 and 80 amp models can operate at either 110-120V or 220-240V, 50/60 Hz with licensed electrician installation based on operating voltage. The 150 amp and 350 amp models are 220-240V only. (The 150 and 350 amp models are special order and take about 2 weeks to leave the warehouse.) (Higher amp models are available by special order / Please call toll-free 1-877-264-3794) 3. The amp rating on all Solaira power controls is stated on the nameplate. Steady-state current draw must not exceed that rating. 4. Rated voltage of the connected load should match the input voltage to the power control. CALCULATING SIZE To calculate the power requirements needed: 1. Add the wattage of all the heaters 2. Divide that total wattage by the voltage of the electrical circuit the control and heaters will be connected to. That will give you the total amp draw of all of the heaters. 3. Choose the control that matches the circuit's voltage and exceeds the amp draw needed, from the pull-down menu near the top of this page (below the product price by the product photo).
